Finetuning internal orientation - General interior design -

My 'New Modern Art Deco' Style - Concept Design - Art Direction - Branding Design

Magique Lounge is a cosy Lounge - Cocktail - Coffee & Sweets & Hookah Bar in the cosy city Gent, Belgium. A luxury New Art Deco Stylish interior with a strong storytelling branding.

Royal materials, Instagrammable corners, the power of indirect light vs warm colours. An ode to the Johnny Depp approach

with a wink to the fairytale of 'Alice in Wonderland' (magical dark atmospheres - The mystical Chestshire cat, the hookah of the caterpillar and a little bit of craziness).

Starting off with the concept of High tea moments with tasty sweets, on to colourful cocktails with fresh fruits and and sweet flavours of the water pipe. The smoke of water pipes enhance the star sky ceiling.

And don't forget; if you pay good attention

to the ceiling you will see the sky darkens and lights up again on various places.

That's for who have an eye fo  detail.

Already Magique is known as the new "Instagrammable heaven" ;). And ladies; check out the large candy box where you can model in to take a cool picture with a blow-up cupcake, 'cause yes.. You're like really pretty! Also, when you order a piece of pie, push the medaillon with the logo;

you will see you can even find some "Magique" in your hand cleaning towel.

Mr.Panda Bar - Knokke

We started off from these spaces:

Modern Art Deco Lounge

Furniture Design - Concept Design - Art Direction

Mr. Pandabar is a new Wine and tapas Lounge designconcept in Knokke-Heist, Belgium, bringing the Old Art Deco Style into the new contemporary era.

Old royal colours with a refined dusty effects and timeless natural textures, vintage quality materials, metal structures and a Japanese cherry blossom tree to give it all a sustainable and fancy and Instagrammable expression suited for all genders and lifestyles. To top it off the interior is the perfect canvas for modern Street art with vibrant colours and golden accents.

Art Deco an Architectual Movement from 1920-1930's, was often inspired by imported works and items from the oriental became the more "Minimalistic" follow up of the Art Nouveau. Hence 'Mr. Panda', who became the key Character for the story. A so told descendant of 'Mr. Fitzgerald' his great grandfather and traveler, inspired by the Great Gatsby with a Millionaire lifestyle who knew how to throw a fancy party.

This reflects the current trend on all Social Media where people breath the need to actual live life to the max during these busy, demanding work and life time.

This lounge is the perfect haven for those who want to network or meet friends in a cosy atmosphere while enjoying good food, a wide selection of fine wines and colourful cocktails.

As of now Mr.Pandabar is also awarded a start in the Restaurant Guide Gault&Millau

Minimalistic Italian Restaurant

This very sympathetic Italian restaurant in Oudburg Ghent, the very city center,  is located in a original old building.

We wanted to keep all the old historic

features & integrate a minimalistic interior. Bringing as much light in by using a lot of white and beige tones, colours that refer to the Mediterranean rocky coast.

Fresh accents of blue and green like the southern flora and seaside are reflected in the use of various colourful fabrics. Velvet as a known classy material refers to the rich

style of the 19th Century. Powerful accents in balance with the original building style.

The restaurant has several connected spaces, all with a character of their own.

Looking in from the street a wide wine wall brings richness to the room and throws a soft warm light throughout this first room in the evening.

A sepia coloured wallvisual decorates the narrow corridor connecting the first wine space with the bar area and entrance in the middle, and shows us the marvellous Sicily.

An oval shaped bench welcomes everyone at the bar.

In the 3rd room and dinner hall we gave the ceiling a deep night blue colour with pended lights to reflect the southern outside living culture. Modern features like the square room dividers seal off the entrance, to make it more cosy. Figured glass inserts give it a classic accent. The wood on the diner tables look weathered & worn by time,

similar to the texture of outside standing furniture in a sea side salty climate.

It also refers to the original rough wooden

floor we kept in the entrance by the bar.

The bar, looking like a modern edgy element as a contemporary eye-catcher has a back wall in copper colour to bring again warmth.

Next to the tile work in the kitchen and the wooden tree trunks we sure could add more themed elements to the interior, but we all were convinced of the phrase "Less is More"

Sport Bar & Leisure center

O'Learys Ghent

Bowling design & furniture design - Colour & material advice -

O'Learys Dok Noord Gent is a unique Sweedish concept that combines the cosiness of a local pub with a variety of sports and games. The perfect place to enjoy quality time with friends & family.

In this case it was very important to make the seamless match between the O'Learys franchising concept and good old school fun entertainment center, while not loosing the link to the authentic old factory site.

This contemporary AWARD WINNING project contains a large restaurant, a massive bar, 18 stylish bowling lanes, an indoor mini golf court, curling tracks and a large game area and corporate event center where sport clubs and companies can book meeting rooms and organise active events.

'Belgian's First Baby's Restaurant'

Amélie + moi

Finetuning internal orientation - Matching interior design -

furniture design - material advice - Constructional development

This news headline concept store offers the perfect answer to the various needs of many young parents. Amélie+moi is a "new born" cosy and multi experience cafe, and social meet up space with child sized food & drinks and has special attention to the needs of pregnant ladies or those who have just given birth. A soft floor play area for the kids, a remarkable retail store with a great selection of sustainable children’s clothing & child safe toys. It has a multifunctional room for group activities where parents, babies & toddlers can enjoy workshops, see a cosy afternoon movie, etc. All combined under 1 roof, it offers the perfect practical place to finally win more quality time, together with your family.

Although it had to be a white, very modern, interior, we felt it still needed to be cosy. We kept as much natural light as possible to keep it more sunny and spacy. Without loosing our white modern character, we integrated a warm wooden floor, soft seat taupe fabric cushions on the benches and warm lighting I added some black lines and accents to bring out the geometrical hexagon shapes and keep it all in balance. All materials selected are easy to maintain, comfortable, practical and child friendly. This design is a perfect example where the importance of close cooperation with the client, ergonomics, geometrics, good calculation, balance in a design are essential to make it perfect.

During the pre design fase I based myself on a bee nest. For me the honeycomb was a link to the story of building a better world together, going out to explore, returning to share experiences and knowledge and nurse the next generation. Throughout the whole interior design, I used the combination of connected hexagons, like in a honeycomb. This perfectly balanced natural

shape has a very modern, almost futuristic character and offers to my opinion remarkable design possibilities in many ways.

Luxury Shisha Lounge

Bar D'Or

Conceptual Design - Renovation design - Interior design & furniture design - Colour & material advice - House Branding - Logo design - Graphics - Picture art

Throughout my extended experience throughout projects worldwide I encountered the art of shisha

also known as hookah or the water pipe smoking.

This client, a Master of the Shisha art demanded a perfect mix of the Arabic Style into a contemporary interior design.

It was important to capture the magical cosiness of 1001 Arabian Nights. It is a place where people of all origins meet, talk, laugh and smoke a professional prepared shisha pipe. The usage of the right kind of materials is important for the best functional use, and cosy atmosphere.

At this stage the first part of the lounge is finished, the next interior fase design: the shisha lounge is finished.

It's going to be even more modern translation of the Arabian fantasy.

Also in this project we went deeper into the concept with the Logo design, Menu design, and Product development. A brand new type of shisha pipe with a revolutional system is in the 'pipe line' as we speak.
